A Message To Our Camp Families

At Kangaroo Provisions Co, summer camp isn’t just a season, it’s a tradition. Through stories shared on our Camp Journal, we’ve celebrated the laughter, independence, friendships, and lifelong memories that camps create for children and their families. Camp gear isn’t simply luggage, it’s part of the journey, the growth, and the stories that kids carry home with them.

We know that for many of you, camp holds a deeply special place in your family’s heart, a place of joy, confidence, and cherished memories. And we also know that for some families, summer camp will never be the same again.

The tragic events of July 2025, when devastating floods swept through parts of Central Texas, shook our community to its core. A beloved tradition became the site of unimaginable grief. Our hearts continue to ache for every life lost, every parent’s fear, and every family still grieving.

As we look to the 2026 camp season, we want to be mindful and deeply respectful of the many ways this tragedy has affected camp families. Camp should be a place of safety, growth, friendship, and joy. We know that some of you may be returning to camps that are choosing to reopen, while others are still healing, still remembering and making choices about what’s right for your children and your family.

We believe in the power of camp traditions to strengthen kids, families, and communities but also believe in supporting conversations about safety and preparedness that help these traditions continue responsibly.

Summer camp celebrates growth, resilience, connection, and care for one another. It’s our hope that this summer brings renewed joy to campers everywhere, that memories are made safely, and that the spirit of camp continues to bring comfort, confidence, and warmth to families across the country. We are here to help continue your camp tradition, even if we are just a small part of the journey. And we thank you for that.
